Porter's Allergies

The official verdict is in.  Porter is definitely allergic to egg whites, milk, and peanuts.  He had the most severe reaction to egg whites.  Hopefully he'll grow out of the milk and egg allergies.  But if not, oh well.  That's life.  For some reason, I'm more okay with him being allergic to peanuts.  Probably because that is such a common allergy.  He's not allergic to any other nuts, so that's good to know.  He also has asthma.  We got a nifty little inhaler thing for him that we're supposed to give him two puffs a day.  It's more of a preventative treatment.  The doctor also had us get an epi pen for him, because he does have anaphalaxis- a severe enough reaction to the above mentioned foods that it could be life-threatening.  We have another appointment set up for three months from now to see how he's doing.  And that's pretty much it.  Porter took the whole thing very well.  He zonked out as soon as we got in the car to head home, and he slept the whole way home from Ogden.  At least now we know what foods to avoid and I feel better about giving him more 'real' food.  We also got some suggestions about what to do about his mild eczema
