update last post.

So I see i did not finish a sentence or two. The pics are the before of the office storage room and Robert's old bedroom in the basement.

Winter project

So I got Blake to agree to remodeling the basement into a family room. This means that first he has to clean the garage and then the loft to make room for non perishables from the storage room and also take every thing out of his office so it can become a food storage room/pantry. We have way too much stuff or better description junk. the house part of the project. There is lots to keep Blake busy. This is my first time posting so the pics are not actually where I wanted them but I'll do better next time.

Bit of Inspiration

(Brigham City Temple estimated opening Fall 2012)

I am so lucky. I get to speak in sacrament meeting on Sunday! (Please sense the sarcasm.) My topic is service. I immediately thought of a talk I heard President Uchtdorf give in the General Relief Society meeting in 2008. It is such an awesome talk, I wanted to share my favorite parts with all of you.

"Today I would like to speak to those who have ever felt inadequate, discouraged, or weary—in short, I would like to speak to all of us."

"We know that sometimes it can be difficult to keep our heads above water. In fact, in our world of change, challenges, and checklists, sometimes it can seem nearly impossible to avoid feeling overwhelmed by emotions of suffering and sorrow."

"I would like to speak about two principles that may help you find a path to peace, hope, and joy—even during times of trial and distress. I want to speak about God’s happiness and how each one of us can taste of it in spite of the burdens that beset us."

"If you are a mother, you participate with God in His work of creation—not only by providing physical bodies for your children but also by teaching and nurturing them. If you are not a mother now, the creative talents you develop will prepare you for that day, in this life or the next."

"President Gordon B. Hinckley believed in the healing power of service. After the death of his wife, he provided a great example to the Church in the way he immersed himself in work and in serving others. It is told that President Hinckley remarked to one woman who had recently lost her husband, “Work will cure your grief. Serve others.”

"In today’s world of pop psychology, junk TV, and feel-good self-help manuals, this advice may seem counterintuitive. We are sometimes told that the answer to our ills is to look inward, to indulge ourselves, to spend first and pay later, and to satisfy our own desires even at the expense of those around us. While there are times when it is prudent to look first to our own needs, in the long run it doesn’t lead to lasting happiness."

"I believe that the women of the Church, regardless of age or family status, understand and apply best the words of James Barrie, the author of Peter Pan: “Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” 11

Well, This weekend Ashley and I had a road trip up to Idaho. We scanned all of our pictures from babyhood up to high school. I have to admit that we were pretty darn cute!

First Prenatal Visit

Our first prenatal visit went really well! I love my doctor! (Dr. Kim McCulloch) It was nice to have Rob there with me. Dr. McCulloch just went over a few things with me and then we got to see the baby! I think that finally made it all real to me - to actually see the baby there and hear the heartbeat! That was awesome. :) After the ultrasound (she said I was measuring around 11 1/2 weeks and that the baby looked and sounded good), I had my blood drawn and then I got a cool bag and we left. My next appointment is February 9th. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, my due date is now July 26th.

p.s. the Firehouse birthday lunch was super fun!

Firehouse Birthday Lunch

Had a fun lunch today to celebrate the birthdays of Robert and Abbey. Firehouse food was delicious as always. We missed everyone who couldn't make it!!

Mom made cupcakes. Asher stuffed his face. Literally.

88 Days!!!

What's in my crock pot?

I should be at church, but it's practically impossible with a nap-ready one-year-old. Ash is in bed sleeping to his Beatles lullaby CD. Brooks is at church. I'm just hanging out here at home smelling the delicious roast in the crock pot. It's a new recipe to me. Here's the recipe in case you want to try it too. Cousin Rachel gave it to me. I hope it tastes as good as it smells!

New Blog

"I'm the first one on the new blog!"

OK, so I was not as quick as Heidi, but I was hoping to be the first.

Just to Make Sure

Hey! This is Heidi. I was just making sure that I can for sure post here. Looks like I can! Rob and I had a fun time teaching primary today. Except there's this one kid who just does not listen to us! It's like he doesn't even hear us sometimes ... oh well, we'll teach him yet!

I've got my first prenatal appointment this Wednesday! We're both pretty excited. Hopefully Rob will be able to come with me. We're also excited to hang out with Abbey and Gaylen that day too!

Life goes on. Rob and I are both still working. Nothing much else is going on with us. We're excited for Ashley and Todd! April will come way too fast! :)
