I love animals.

Before I get to the point of this post, I just noticed that the ticker was still up counting down to Porter's arrival. He still had two days to go! Funny. Obv I removed it. We need something else to count down to I guess.

I can't find my camera cord to show you pictures of our trip to Waterton. I'll find it soon, but what really matters is this awesomesauce video of me spinning a squirrel off of a tennis racquet. I know, I know... it's cruel. But you wouldn't believe how many ground squirrels there are at the campground and how UNafraid they are of people. It's maddening. The Steele's have a history with squirrels. Several years ago they were scooping them up with their bare hands and throwing them at each other. I know, insane. Dov (seen in the video with me) actually got bit while posing for a picture holding a squirrel. Last year, they built a trap with a stick and a string holding a box up. The squirrel was lured in with bait and when the stick was pulled the box went running across the grass. Hilarious. I may or may not be ashamed to admit that the tennis racquet launching was my idea.

Brooks launched a squirrel really high and really sideways to the point that it landed on our windshield. Don't worry, it didn't die. In fact, it ran off and likely came back for more bait. Crazy.

So, remember that I still love animals and that this video should never be leaked to PETA. Gracias.

Blake's fishin trip

I caught this brown on the North Platte river. It gave me quite a tussle and took about 12 to 15 min. to tire him out enough to get him out of the river. My little camera doesn't do this fish justice. This fish is close to 24" long and I estimate the weight at 41/2 lbs. I caught 8 fish that day. All were very nice except one that was 12" to 13". This stretch of the river is in the middle of Wyoming (nowhere) about 1 and 1/2 hrs. north of Rawlins.

WY Road Trip

We took a quick trip to visit Abbey this week. I hadn't been to Star Valley since Callie was blessed.... 3 years!!! It was a fun trip.

Millie showed us the chickens. She takes great care of them and even carries them around! I did not want  to pick one up. I'm a bit jealous of the fresh eggs they'll be getting in the fall, though.

Asher and Callie had fun on the swings.

Baby Brigham is soooooper cute. He pretty much looks like the new-born version of Robert.

Here's Asher asleep in the car. He's practicing for our 13-hour drive to Canada next week.

Balloons

So Blake and I went to Provo this morning to see the balloons go up, but because of unfavorable weather conditions - no going up. But, some of them did inflate which was still pretty cool. As you can see in some of the pics we were pretty close to one while it was being filled with hot air.
We also got to see the Darth Vadar balloon, it and it's owners are from Belgium and it has been
all over the world and it was HUGE. Anyway it was fun!

More Stats

2 cm and about 90% effaced.  His head is "right there" and she said he's at about a level 0 (all you moms know what that means; for all you other people, there's a system for sort of measuring how low the baby is sitting in your pelvic area.  The highest is a +2, then a +1, then 0, -1, and -2.  I think -2 is crowning (obviously the lowest level).  She also sounded like she expects my water to break relatively soon- it's really tight, apparently.  At the end of my appointment, she said, "Well, I'll see you next week, or sooner!"  Good grief!

p.s. I also tested negative for Group B Strep.  Yay!  No iv for me!
