Vacation!!!

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything on here so I thought I would tell you all about our trip to California. We headed out early on saturday morning. By early I mean like 5:30 a.m. (we were a little excited). The drive wasn't too bad. It took about 9 or 10 hours. On the way out we decided to stop in Vegas for an hour or two. It wasn't our favorite place. That night we stayed in San Diego. We thought San Diego was pretty awesome. On Sunday we went and saw the San Diego Temple.
We also went out to a place called La Jolla. It was a really nice tourist town. There is a look out that you can drive up to so you can see all of San Diego and the ocean. It is really cool! The beaches is La Jolla were really cool. There is a beach there that is full of seals. We had lots of fun looking at them. We ate at the Burger Lounge. I think this picture does a good job of showing how good it was.

Here is a picture of the beach in La Jolla. I think if you look close you can see the seals in the background.
Monday we went to a Island that is right next to San Diego called Coronado. It's not much of an island because there is a short bridge that takes you to it. We loved the beach at Coronado. I recommend it if you ever go to San Diego. We pretty much spent the whole day at the beach. We both got sun burnt pretty bad. Later in the day we stopped by Old Town San Diego. It was really cool. We stopped by the Mormon Battalion visitor center too. We didn't know it was there so it was a fun surprise.

Tuesday was our last day in San Diego. We didn't really know what we were going to do. Since we were in San Diego we decided to go to the zoo. It was awesome. Ashley's favorite was the polar bears and my favorite was the orangutans. That night we drove to our hotel in Anaheim.

Wednesday we went to Disneyland. We had a lot of fun but it really wore us out.
Thursday we went to California Adventure. We both liked it a little more than Disneyland. The lines seemed to be shorter and we had more fun on the rides.

Friday we didn't really know what to do. We drove to Hollywood and we didn't like it at all. I think we were there for like 10 minutes. We also drove out to Newport Beach. The highlight of the day the Angels vs Yankees baseball game. It was really fun.
We had tons of fun on the trip but on Saturday we were ready to get home. Sorry this is long. I guess I don't have to make a blog post for a while now.

New Job?

For those of you who didn't know, Rob had a phone interview with SUU on Tuesday for an International Student Coordinator position (or something like that).  He got a call today for a second interview for next Thursday.  They want him to go down to SUU for the interview so they can meet him and show him campus and then take him out for an early dinner (his interview isn't until 2 p.m.).  So we'll probably make a little day trip of it.  I have some friends down there, so I'll just hang out with them while Rob is interviewing and getting fed (jealous).  Rob is excited about this opportunity for a new job and more experience, but we're both a little hesitant to leave Logan ... if he gets offered the job.  We LOVE Logan, and would be sad to leave it and would miss our friends.  Plus, we'd be farther from family.  But still, this is actually an awesome opportunity for Rob.  That's all for now!

Today while Blake and Todd were working on the kitchen floor (see the Pic)
Todd goes out to the driveway to cut a piece flooring, when he comes in he says
that there is sure a lot of bees by the tramp. He wasn't kidding. Sometime around 1 pm
a zillion bees showed up, also a police officer. I guess these bees had been at the school and decided to make a swarm underneath our trampoline. So, I in my infinite wisdom, call the extension office and boy were they excited. They told me not to let anyone bother them and they would be over to get them. By now there are 3 policemen and numerous neighbors and the elementary school principal all here watching this clump of bees.
After about an hour an interesting looking man shows up, puts one of those boxes that bees live in, puts on one of those face over things and then.........with his bare hands, drops that clump of bees into the box. He then tells us that they all won't go in the box for a while and that he would come back later. He also gave us a little lesson on bees. Ask me about it sometime. Needless to say, our house was the hot spot or should I say a beehive of activity today (he, he, he).
